This Victorian house was at one time one of four in Riverside built from the same stock plan. It's original owner was David G. Mitchell, an organizer in the creation of Riverside County. A four-year Union Army veteran, Mr. Mitchell fought at Gettysburg during the Civil War. In the first county election in June 1893, Mr. Mitchell was elected county treasurer. He and his family lived in the house until 1907. Cultural Heritage Board Landmark. No. 68 City of Riverside.
